Founded in 2003, HealthCorps’ mission is to strengthen communities with the most innovative approaches to health and wellness to help the next generation be more resilient, both mentally and physically. HealthCorps students exercise more, eat better and practice positive thought.

A Howard University graduate, Carla is a member of the James Beard Foundation’s Women's Leadership Advisory Committee and speaks frequently on the subjects of women's empowerment, leadership and equality. She is the Culinary Ambassador for Sweet Home Cafe at the Smithsonian National Museum for African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
