"The National leadership team and administration have been extremely supportive of our chapter and provide us with resources to sustain the organization. This allows us to focus our efforts on leadership development and programming rather than fundraising to keep the chapter afloat."
What are the costs associated with the program?
Student Membership Cost
Dues for lifetime membership in the NSLS are $95. It is paid upon registration and covers numerous membership benefits. From this, $5.00 is credited back to the NSLS Chapter on your campus to support local events. In addition, for each chapter member who completes their steps to induction, your campus chapter will receive another $5.00 to further drive sustainability and growth. On a national level, $2.00 from each registration helps to fund our Scholarships & Awards program. See the breakdown of student membership costs below.
There is an annual fee of $2,800 per year for the NSLS's leadership development program. Grant funding is available for a limited number of new chapters and yearly credits can be earned towards annual dues based on actions steps, that drive the long-term health and sustainability of the chapter. These annual dues from chapters offset a small portion of the expense associated with supporting each chapter and providing the many services that make the NSLS unique among national leadership development programs. Please contact our program development team about grant opportunities or questions regarding financial assistance.
The NSLS supports you every step along the way in starting and running your chapter. This will include regularly scheduled calls, access to a dedicated area on the website to manage your chapter, training on setting up a student executive board, free regional conferences for you to attend to learn best practices and network with other chapter advisors, and tools to promote and track attendance for your events.
