Answers to Frequently asked questions

As the largest leadership honor society in the nation, the NSLS currently offers three unique credit-bearing courses that complement our certification programs. The coursework for each program is designed to incorporate 35+ instructional hours of work. Please see our syllabi under the Our Education Work tab for more information.

Combining online coursework, immersive learning, and peer-instruction collaboration, our courses prepare members to demonstrate their leadership skills and range of learning leadership in new ways. Members who complete the credit pathway gain essential knowledge and skills that benefit their future career development for a lifetime. Once completed, our courses provide additional credentials to include in a leadership portfolio, credits or transcripts to use for professional learning or academic applications, support for scholarship essays, or digital badges to showcase on social networks.

Our Education team is comprised of licensed experts in leadership, education, and accreditation with over 25 years of experience. They are poised and ready to answer individual questions, coach and provide personalized support through the education process.
As an accredited organization and through our partnerships with colleges and universities across the United States, the NSLS provides numerous options for members to use their credits and transcripts. These options include: digital badging for social media and personal marketing, graduate school applications and essay writing, professional certifications, personal leadership portfolios, or future continuing education credits.

Acceptance of credit at any institution is at the discretion of the receiving educational institution.
At this time, the credit pathway is only available to new members who register at the time of enrollment.
The NSLS is accredited by AdvancED, who oversees the Commissions of (1) Northwest Accredited Commission (NWAC);, the (2) North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the (3) Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). All three are regional accrediting agencies recognized as reliable authorities concerning the quality of education or training offered by the institutions of higher education or higher education programs.
