Learners are given up to three semesters of time to complete the coursework from the time they first enroll.
Example: If a learner enrolls in Fall 2024, they have until the end of Fall 2025 to complete the course (Fall 2024 -> Spring 2025 -> Fall 2025).
While every learner is unique, a certificate course takes an average of 10 hours of work to complete. A credit recommended course takes an average of 30 hours of work to complete.
The Credit Recommended Pathway consists of three courses approved by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) for college credit recommendations.
Currently, there are over 2,000 colleges and universities that recognize ACE and NCCRS college credit recommendations. Credit recommendations can be transferred to an academic institution once (1) the member has submitted an official transcript from The NSLS to be sent to the receiving academic institution and (2) the receiving academic institution has received, evaluated, and agreed to accept the credit recommendations as transferable credit.
