Speaker Broadcasts:
Throughout the year via live internet broadcast and on-demand viewings. Members will have access to stream our live Speaker Broadcast Series directly from their Members Area. In the case of an on-campus chapter event, speaker broadcast attendance is open to anyone regardless of NSLS membership status. Views, opinions, and advice given or expressed by speakers during the broadcasts are not necessarily endorsed by NSLS. Chapters will be provided with all promotional materials, including customizable press releases, speaker biographies, posters, and email templates for each current speaker event via electronic materials. We strive to make our programs as accessible and usable as possible through Section 508 and the WCAG 2.0 Guidelines and AA compliance. Chapters or Members who have any type of disability can contact us directly for expert advice, support or tools that can make our program experience easier and accessible.
Videotaping, Duplication, Additional Broadcasting, and Broadcast Liability:
All broadcast materials are the property of NSLS and are available for active chapters only, unless explicit written permission is secured for other use. Videotaping or duplication of the broadcasts is strictly prohibited. The broadcasts are available for a one-time live viewing, with rebroadcasts available via video-on-demand and download for chapter use only. Chapters may not broadcast the program on their campus cable networks or public websites. NSLS shall not be held liable for failure to deliver the broadcasts due to circumstances beyond its control, except to provide rebroadcasts on the website, at NSLS’s sole discretion.
Programming:
In addition to speakers, NSLS provides interactive training videos and other resources for Orientation, Leadership Training Day and Success Networking Teams.
Induction Items:
Induction kits are subject to change and may include a t-shirt, pin, car decal, and certificate for newly inducted members. Prior to member registration, Chapters that operate primarily on-campus may choose to receive all member Induction kits to distribute directly to members at the Induction Ceremony, or have NSLS send Induction kits directly to members upon completion of all steps. If the latter option is chosen, members will be responsible for the Induction kit shipment fee. Members who have paid the Induction kit shipment fee upon registration will receive their kits directly, regardless of Chapter’s Induction Ceremony event status. In the case of standard online chapters, or any other chapters that offer programming primarily in the live online medium, induction items will be sent directly to the member upon completion of all steps. If hosting an in-person or live online ceremony, the Chapter may also opt to request additional awards, which will be printed for in-person ceremonies or provided electronically for virtual ceremonies.
Scholarships and Awards:
Members participating in the program are eligible to apply for exclusive scholarships and awards. This fund changes annually based upon the number of members that join nationally, with a portion from each student’s membership dues applied to the Scholarships and Awards fund.
Membership Benefits:
Members receive exclusive benefits, including online success and leadership materials, past speaker broadcasts, personal success coaching, partner discounts, personalized letters of recommendation, weekly motivational audio recordings, leadership opportunities, an exclusive online job bank, and more.
