The United by Purpose: Building Equitable Leaders Scholarship supports the NSLS’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Our organization aims to develop leaders who foster a sense of belonging for everyone, with careful attention to the ways race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and socioeconomic status can impact both who has a seat at the table and who feels welcome to be there. We support our entire community as we work alongside all who are adversely affected every day in large and small ways by forms of systemic injustice.

Each year, the NSLS recognizes one chapter for the impact it's had on both its members and the broader community. This prestigious award is presented to a chapter that continuously demonstrates excellent leadership for its members, campus, and community. Additional standout chapters are recognized with the Distinguished Chapter Award.
NSLS Chapter Advisors are vital to the development, perpetuation, and strength of the NSLS mission. Not only are they mentors and leaders to the Executive Board and local chapter members, but they also serve as liaisons with campus administration. Each year the NSLS recognizes one Advisor who truly exemplifies the NSLS mission and goes above and beyond expectations. Additional standout Advisors are honored with a Distinguished Advisor Award.
