Everything You Need to Know About National Events

At the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), we’re always looking for ways to make leadership development more accessible.

That’s why we’re excited to launch the Fall 2025 National Events Series—a new initiative offering live, virtual programming designed to help more members complete their Foundations of Leadership (FOL) steps and reach induction.

Whether your chapter is fully online or your members are simply juggling busy schedules, this new option brings added flexibility without replacing the incredible work already happening on your campus.

What Are National Events?

The NSLS National Events Series is a set of monthly, live virtual sessions hosted by the NSLS National Office. These events follow the standard FOL curriculum and provide an optional path for members who may need a little more structure, scheduling support, or peer connection to reach induction.

Each chapter selected for this program is automatically enrolled and assigned one specific weekday. Members from that chapter will see a custom calendar of events available only on that assigned day, ensuring an even distribution of participation and plenty of opportunities.

With 60+ events offered between August and December, members can attend whichever sessions fit their schedule, no matter where they are.

What the Four-Week Cycle Looks Like

The National Events follow a repeatable four-week cycle, so members always know what to expect:

  • Week 1: Orientation

Kick off the journey with an introduction to the NSLS mission, structure, and benefits.

  • Week 2: Leadership Training Day (LTD) + SNT Meeting 1

Dive into core leadership concepts, then connect in peer groups to set and share personal goals.

  • Week 3: Success Networking Team (SNT) Meeting 2

Reflect on progress, overcome obstacles, and build momentum with your group.

  • Week 4: Success Networking Team (SNT) Meeting 3

Final check-in and wrap-up to celebrate wins and encourage completion.

Each session is facilitated by an experienced NSLS team member and hosted via Zoom, with multiple time slots across U.S. time zones. Speaker Broadcasts are not part of the National Events series, as members can complete this induction step by viewing broadcasts in the Members Area at their convenience.

National Events Are a Supplement, Not a Substitute

This new offering is designed to support, not replace, your local programming.

If you already host chapter-led Orientation, LTD, or SNTs—keep going! National Events simply give members additional options. They’re especially helpful for:

  • Online or hybrid chapters

  • Chapters with limited facilitation resources

  • Members who miss campus events or need flexible scheduling

  • Students who thrive with peer accountability

Members may still complete FOL asynchronously via the Members Area, attend your on-campus events, or join National Events—it’s all about choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to take action to enroll my chapter?

No. Eligible chapters have already been enrolled and assigned a weekday for access. The schedule will appear on your NSLS calendar soon, and we will alert members of these events as they occur.

Can my members still go to our local events?

Yes! National Events are completely optional and designed to complement, not replace, what you’re doing locally.

Can we opt out if we prefer to keep things local-only?

Of course. Simply reply to your enrollment email or contact your NSLS representative to opt out.

Am I expected to run these events as an advisor?

Not at all. The NSLS National Office fully facilitates all National Events. No planning or hosting required on your end.

Wrapping Up

By offering more paths to success, National Events help ensure every member has the tools, support, and community they need to complete their leadership journey. We’re proud to bring this flexible new option to chapters across the country.
