FEBRUARY 2023 NEWSLETTER

LETTER FROM THE CEO

Every February, we honor Black History Month by recognizing the culture and contributions of African Americans. I invite you to join us and reflect on the leaders who’ve inspired us throughout history, like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and the countless activists who fought for justice and equality.

This is also a time to recognize everyone who is still fighting today. We can look to these leaders for examples of engaging in inclusion, compassion, and courage. It all comes down to a world of equal representation.

The NSLS is a proud proponent of representation. We recognize that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are essential for a successful organization and society. Black History Month not only honors the people, but also the progress made when all voices are heard.

Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels empowered to express their identities without fear. This allows us to break barriers and build bridges between different communities to work together toward liberty and justice for all.

I wish you all continued success this semester.
